Lazy is as Lazy Does
cats, Fun, Stuff I hate, Stupid things I do December 24th, 2007I know. It’s sad and it doesn’t make any sense. Welcome to our Pumpkin Tree Display. We never intended to leave our autumn pumpkin display out on the patio, but it just happened. OK, strike that. It didn’t just happen. It happened because we are the laziest people we know.
Then a friend gave me a small artificial tree to stick out there because we can’t keep a tree in the house. Our cat, Lucky has "chewing issues," and would likely eat the needles and puncture a necessary organ. This is how we still enjoy a tree and keep Lucky from using up some of his nine lives.
I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas. I hope that Santa is good to you and better than he was to me. Today I woke up with a huge zit on my chin. So now when I have family pictures taken of me today and tomorrow, I will be instructed to cover up that thing or get out of the picture. Can someone please tell me when the pimples of my youth will stop showing up on the face of my 40-something self?
Happy Holidays to all my zit-free bloggy friends!
Stumble it!

One word: photoshop! LOL
BTW, did get the Google comment link to work after logging out of Blogger. So I am convinced they made the change now properly. Now I have to figure out how get the Blogger comments back once I uninstall Halsocan. Nothing I found has been clear on how to do that. I don’t think it will be hard, I just need to know how.

Windyridge! I’m so glad you figured out the commenting problem on blogger blogs. I never did replicate what happened. As for Haloscan, just research the heck out of it before you do anything.

Hey I like these new shades of green, moss and beige. Very relaxing!
December 24th, 2007 at 2:17 pm
So your patio display is just a continuation of your “Happy Hallo-Christmas,” right? I love it.
Why don’t you just try standing next to the tree all day? Then everyone will mistake your zit for a shiny, red ornament. What’s more joyful than that?
HEE! Merry Christmas!

Can you imagine Santa Clause meeting The Great Pumpkin? I would want to party with those guys. You may very well be the first to see this happen with your hybrid, seasonal, voo-doo decoration thing.
Don’t forget to exfoliate! Merry Christmasween!

Well I can’t get CommentLuv to work on my WP blog. I have bad luck with plugins and I wish I knew why. 🙁

Interesting…you’re not “luving” my comment from my Gizmo blog…hmmmmm. I see we can do smilies 🙂 🙂 :-O

LOL@BigNerd…Christmasween…Love it!
Sorry about the zit thing, Kathy. I believe things like that happen to me to keep me humble. But in my case it’s not zits, it’s hair growing out of someplace else it doesn’t belong while the top of my head get shinier and shinier.

Cool! Can’t wait to see it with the Valentine’s Day hearts on it, and then the Easter eggs hidden under it. Excellent.
Oh, and does this mean you are going to be watching The Nightmare Before Christmas instead of Frosty The Snowman?
Merry Christmas!

Cardiogirl — I’m glad you like the colors. I do like them myself, just don’t LOVE them. I want to LOVE my blog. I worry more about how it looks than how I look. And right now, kinda zitty.
JD — I’m totally into this Hallo-Christmas thing I’ve apparently started by accident. Could be onto something here. I plan on standing non-zit-side facing front for pictures.
BigNerd — “…hybrid, seasonal, voo-doo decoration thing.
Don’t forget to exfoliate! Merry Christmasween!” You kill me. Funniest thing I’ve read all day. Priceless!
Gizmo — Did you upgrade from another version of CommentLuv? Are you running a compatible version of WordPress? Just a thought. You can see that your second comment here showed up with a link to your last post. Not sure why the first one didn’t.
Lee — I’m doing well in the full-head-of-hair department. In fact, more than is fair to my husband, who wishes for the hair of his youth. You should see the amount of my hair that winds up on the bathroom floor after drying it. It’s like tumbleweeds. Dave doesn’t ever want to hear me complain about having crazy, thick hair! He’d be happy with a tenth of what I have.
Michael — You’ve definitely given me a crazy idea. You may just see pictures of a Hallow-Easter-Shamrock-Hearts-Turkey-Christma-ween tree in the future.
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY !!!!!

I love the pumpkin Christmas tree! It is unique amongst all the boring standard Christmas trees – and that makes it pretty special.
Have a wonderful Christmas – and I hope that the laptop doesn’t take a long time to set up.

Merry Christmas to you and Dave (and your herd of cats)!

Ok I may as well sign this from my third blog! I have no clue what version I am using, I just found what I thought was the latest version. I am using WP 2.30. What version is your plugin and I will snag that if you are using WP 2.30 or 2.31?
BTW I am so glad I found your blog via Jeff’s.
Happy Holidays and I love your original tree!!

A herd of cats ? I can imagine a herd of a hundred sheep. But How many cats do you have ?
Sometimes, I tend to translate “I’ve been busy lately” to “No, you’ve been lazy the whole season”

Riayn — I love my tree, too. Although I may need to disassemble the display a bit. While realigning the tree in its base, I noticed the pumpkin on the left is really moldy. Didn’t notice until I looked closely. Our display will be a little less pumpkin-y today. One down, two to go.
Jeff — Right back at ya! Your blog was a great find and I can’t tell you how much fun it was collaborating with you on our Audio Annoyances posts. Looking forward to more of that in 2008. Merry Christmas!
Bernie — The same to you and yours! And I can’t thank you enough for the shout-outs you’ve given me this year. It’s a pleasure to know you!
OsoNY — I see that there is an upgrade available for CommentLuv, which I have not done yet. I’m using WP 2.3.1, and my CLuv plug-in is the next to latest version. Check with Jeff about what he did to make his links show up here. I don’t remember what exactly he did. His were not appearing until he made a change on his end.
I’m glad I found your blog, too! Jeff was a great matchmaker.
Jaffer — I assure you I’m not one of those “crazy cat ladies” with a million cats. We have only three, although the messes they make sometimes makes me think I have a hundred. Love that video! You cannot make a cat do anything they don’t want to do. No doubt about it!

Merry Christmas!

Best Christmas ever!!!!

Lesle — Good to have you! Come back for more in 2008!
Regan — Santa was very good to you! Can I borrow the Simpsons movie?
December 25th, 2007 at 3:08 pm
I can bring the Simpson’s movie over one time to watch. =)

I am NOT zit free either. At 40 years old, I think we should be able to live zit free. It would only be fair. And I am happy to see that I am not the only lazy person in the yard maintenance department. My planters are still sitting, with dead plants in them, covered with snow.
December 27th, 2007 at 5:14 am
I hear you there! We now officially take down all of our Christmas decorations…by the end of February. That makes it all clearer somehow.

Regan — D’oh! We’d like that. Thanks!
Terri — I agree. You should hit a certain age and your reward should be a clear face. You always think it’s just the teenage years. My planter? The one the tree is in? There’s garbage and dirt in there. Been sitting out since summer. I used to dump them out and store ’em in the garage. Somehow that seemed like too much work!
Betty C. — Driving around with my sister and niece Saturday night, we admired all the hard work that people put into lighting their homes for Christmas. All I kept thinking was the amount of work that went into it, only to have to disassemble everything soon after. I don’t get it. Where do people find the time? I’m in total awe!
p.s. I do believe you’re my first French reader! Bon jour and Joyeux Noël!
January 1st, 2008 at 3:59 pm
I haven’t put up a tree in years because my cats would knock it over. But if I did put one up, I’d probably just throw a sheet over it after Christmas and leave it up all year, and remove the sheet once the Christmas season rolled around again. Now THAT’S lazy!

Libertine — It’s lazy, but at least you’d get to enjoy a tree. It’s exactly something I would do. I wrote earlier that one of our pumpkins was growing mold. It’s getting moldier and do you think I’ve thrown it out yet? I’m waiting for it to completely disintegrate, and then maybe I can just sweep the bits off the porch. God, I’m lazy.
