Bacon September 3rd, 2011
Did you hear that crackling and popping coming from my house? You should have.
Today is International Bacon Day!
I started early with a BLT last night with extra bacon, of course.
Today I had a delicious bacon and egg breakfast and later I might head out for a bacon cheeseburger.
I’ve got some strips in the fridge, so they’ll make a great late night snack. What? Bacon as a snack? Why yes, of course! When it’s Bacon Day, you celebrate.
May your dishes be savory, your chin drip with grease and your nitrates be plentiful.

I can’t remember the last time I ate bacon. It was definitely many months ago. Yes I do love bacon, but it doesn’t love my cholesterol levels. Hope you enjoyed yours.

There’s a deli that makes the best creamed spinach ever. One of my favorite foods. I’ve actually gained weight on it. After months of guessing the secret ingredient, I was able to identify bacon fat. Which quickly found its way to my ass. Damn, was it good!

I didn’t even know it was Bacon Day but I had bacon for breakfast and a bacon cheeseburger for dinner. Bacon is already a vital part of my life and an inspiration for much of what I do, so I guess you could say every day is Bacon Day in my world.

Awwww, bacon. I don’t eat enough of the stuff…Mostly because I hate cooking it. The last time I cooked it it was a disaster…with grease splashing everywhere. I didn’t even cook it in my own home, so I tried my best to clean everything up…

mmmm the aroma of freshly cooked bacon is hard to beat. But I don’t remember the last time I ate any. My boys though love to cook themselves a bacon sandwich, which means I often return home from work to this mouth watering smell.

Hey Kathy, International Bacon day is a holy day indeed. But sadly, my bacon eatin’ days are over! it’s celery stalks and non-fat yogurt for me. For dinner it’s salad, salad, and more salad! Since you brought up the bacon topic, perhaps you can help solve a marital dispute at chez Blithe. I prefer crispy bacon and my husband prefers fat, soggy, nasty bacon. I say the person cooking the bacon (which is ALWAYS me) should get to pick the bacon thickness. What say you?
