More Food That Looks Like Stuff
food, Fun November 15th, 2007I’m pleased to announce an addition to the Food That Looks Like Stuff collection. The piece, called Carrot Love, was submitted by a friend and colleague who clearly has an eye for art. Study it carefully.
This photograph reflects the highest standards of excellence that The Junk Drawer strives to achieve when accepting items for publication. This is exactly what we’re looking for. You know, pictures that would make adolescent boys snicker.

I love Carrot Love!
I love the whole Food That Looks Like Stuff concept. I keep hoping I’ll come across a worthy entrant.
I hope no one ate those carrots…

Wow, that’s wild.

@ JD — Glad you like it. I’m forever looking at my food in new ways. I had a possibility just yesterday (slice of bread), but it didn’t make the cut. Which is why it was so great to receive the carrots picture today. It was a much better entry.
If the photo contributor would like to explain what happened to the carrots, comment away!
@ CG — Carrots are apparently a wild bunch. I just love this one.

Aw…how cute. I must say that is a lofty goal you’ve set for yourself, posting only the highest quality photos of vegetables in compromising positions. Not everything makes adolescent boys snicker; and, that’s coming from someone who’s an arrested adolescent. You’re only young once, but immaturity an last a lifetime. –Mike

Mike — “You’re only young once, but immaturity can last a lifetime.”
Amen to that. Otherwise, what kind of world would we be living in? I’m all for immaturity as long as no one gets hurt 🙂

This completely explains Carrot Top. Thank you so much for clearing that up.

Carrots! My favorite vegatable! But, I’d rather have them be single. I would feel bad breaking up the relationship.

Regan — Glad to have you back. Now go eat your carrots!

This risque photo has warped my fragile mind…

Kev — Maybe it’ll help if you imagine them with clothes on? Sorry. I’ll get back to G-rated posts effective immediately.

I know this really isn’t the place to say it, but I’m having computer issues. When I was on the internet this morning, a bunch of random other blank pages popped up, and I didn’t do anything. I tried closing them and opening internet again, but the same exact thing happened. This is why I have to be on mom’s lap top

Have you read Terry Pratchett’s “The Truth”? It’s a Disc World book about the founding of a newspaper, and there is a running gag about food that looks like stuff. BTW, these carrots are either adorable or obscene — I suppose it all depends on one’s imagination.

Mark — Thanks for dropping by. I haven’t read the book, but it’s nice to know I’m not the only one interested in food in this way. I’ve chosen to think of the carrots as adorable. This is a “G-rated” blog 🙂
Thanks for adding me to your blogroll. I’m honored to be part of the Simian Society!
