Any Chicago Area Cat People in the House?
cats December 5th, 2009I’m helping a friend out by trying to find a Forever Home for two adorable cats in the Chicago area. Rather than repeat the information about them here, I’m going to send you over to JD at I Do Things, who is on the hunt.
There is a HUGE incentive, besides getting to be a fabulous human being who can save kitties from a shelter.
The owner is offering a full year’s worth of kitty litter and food for the cats, PLUS a cash incentive.
Please help us by getting the word out: Stumble, Tweet, or Facebook this (or JD’s post).
Thanks!
UPDATE FROM JD:
A final thank you for all the good wishes and button-pushing and retweeting.
LUCKY AND MINNIE HAVE FOUND A FOREVER HOME!!!!
Stumble it!

Thank you, Kathy! You’re a true friend. Lucky and Minnie thank you, too. And Gus is especially pleased.

I definitely want the cats. Or at least one. But my mom and dad are saying no. If the cats really need a Forever Home, please talk to my mother about letting me get at least one of the cats? Because we had two cats before. And I really really really want the cats.

JD at I Do Things — I hope it helps! We are proud owners of two shelter kitties, very lucky kitties. I would love to see these cats make it to a new home without having to be placed in a shelter first.
Regan — Oh, you’re such a sweetheart. I know you’re still mourning the loss of Tootie. JD is hoping they can be adopted together. It might be too much for your mom to handle, but I could put in a good word for you anyway.

Awwww, what a beautiful thing. Sorry, I can’t help, I’m in Phoenix. Best of luck to JD in finding a Forever Home real soon.

And don’t forget the United States Postal Service and their awesome “if it fits in the box it ships for one price” offer! (poke holes in box BEFORE packing)

I’m not anywhere near Chicago, but I sure wish I could help! I don’t have any cats but I’d love to have one, although I’m not sure my two dogs would be as pleased.

I shared it on FB.
BTW… I keep forgetting to mention it. Your side bars are now BELOW the posts and so don’t show unless I scroll all the way down. Is this by design or is your template in flux?

Just make sure that the cats are not hazardous materials before mailing.

I was over reading JD’s blog and then saw the headline of your post here. I thought what are the chances that the two blogs I am going to today would be on the same topic? Then I realized it makes perfect sense the two of you would be friends. You know what they say about peas in a pod…
Anyway I hope they find a good home. They are sure two beautiful cats.
Sidebar is OK here in Firefox on two computers. The common issue of WordPress sidebars dropping below the content gets me sometimes when I make a site for someone and forget to check it in all browsers. IE especially is a pain as it likes to thin it is special and can do things its own way, even if every other browser in the world knows better. Usually pretty easy to fix.

I’m sorry that I cannot help you out and take them in. Try a no-kill shelter out there perhaps.

EVERYONE: It looks like JD might have a taker! If no one else will take the kitties, a nice woman in Quincy, MA will (as long as they can get them there).
Thank you all for your tweets and stumbles and encouragement.
Geakz — Reminds me of that scene in Christmas Vacation when the grandmother shows up with a noisy gift box.
Barb — Thanks for letting me know about my sidebar. It only showed like that in IE for me. So I tweaked where my Twitter badge showed up and it looks fixed now. Somehow the code for that was messing up everything in that sidebar.
Will — Ha! Yes, JD and I have been friends for some time. I won a haiku contest on her blog in 2007 and the rest is history!

So glad someone is willing to take them. I see strays roaming our area all the time and feel really bad for them, very sad. Your blog also looks fine to me, but then I use FF.

Oh that would be so wonderful if they might have a home. It is so sad to see cats have to go into a shelter. I hope it works out for the cats. You are a good person to put this post on here.

I hope they find a home. I stumbled Daisy’s post ’cause that’s where I read it first.
All of our kitties are either strays or shelter cats…

I love my cats although I’m pretty sure one of them has been plotting my death for months. At this point the evidence is merely circumstantial although it’s only a matter of time before one of the others rats him out.
