Heheh… that conversation sound so ‘refined’ even when in monotone.
Yesterday, when arriving from the airport, the cab driver had football commentary on the radio. Hamilton was playing against Toronto and we both were fans of the Hamilton Tiger Cats.
“And the scene in the cab was going wild with the driver honking his horn in jubilation in the middle of the highway and speeding at 70mph while the passenger was looking very worried”
Hamilton won embarrassing Toronto with a 30 – 3 win !
that was hilarious!! i loved it! 23 pairs of shoes is not stupid, not even imelda-esque. but i think my favorite line was dave’s “get me my noose and make it snappy!” thanks for the giggle!

o.m.g. WHY do I think these are so funny?? The deadpan “get me my noose and make it snappy” has me rolling on the floor. Yours is the 3rd one of these I’ve seen and didn’t disappoint. Is it the monotone that makes me laugh or the gestures that they are making that make them seem like they are really meaning what they say? That cracked me up. But baseball is a little bit dumb. I like football better. Even though baseball does have cuter uniforms. Daisy the Curly Cat´s last blog post ..Getting Ready for Halloween!
Babs — You mean sounded like me because I’m an idiot, or sounded like my actual voice? Hee.
Jaffer — I tried to get it just right. Needed some tweaks. I’m pleased with the end product, even if now everyone knows how hard it is to be married to me. Hey, as long as the favored team wins, does it really matter if everyone winds up in the hospital as a result?
puglette — Seriously. 23 pairs of shoes is slumming it. Glad you liked the movie!
Grant — Trust me. You don’t want to volunteer for it. At first, you’ll feel all benevolent, but then you’ll regret it. For the rest of your life. Because the questions will not stop coming. Save yourself.
sparkling74 — They’re hilarious because no one talks like that. Can’t help it. It’s a built-in laugh riot, no matter what you tell it to say. I love these things. I found one on a Stumble once and was hooked.
Nanny Goats — I would love it if they had two goats that you could make talk. Provided they don’t already have their mouths full of tin cans.
Daisy the Curly Cat — Now you got me wondering if you’ve ever worn a cute baseball outfit. Maybe at least a baseball cap? I must go search your archive. I think you look adorable in any kind of hat, Miss Daisy.
Ferd — See?! I knew it!
JD at I Do Things — Don’t tempt me. (And I’ll try to make a video of my non-burping gurgling sounds this weekend. Only for you!)
Hilarious! Loved it! Very cool. It reminded me of a Japanese cartoon dubbed in English but way funnier. Are there really 23 paragraphs on Wikipedia to describe when a player makes an error? Amazing. LOL! You’d think that people would have better things to do with their time than chronicle baseball errors. Lauren´s last blog post ..Mentamucil-The Natural Brain Laxative

Ha! It reminded me of the first time I went to Fenway Park in my 20s. My assistant at work tried to tutor me beforehand. My date tested me when we got there and asked “Ok – where are the bases?” That little dirt area looked like the space where we played kickball so I answered “In the corners of the field?”
LOL I love the one that is out there where they are discussing iPhones vs any other phone.

Kathy, it really did sound like you. I almost emailed you to ask if that was Dave.
And Don’t feel bad, I had to explain to Mrs C last night why Roy Oswalt ran through the stop sign at third base to score. And she has several hundred pairs of shoes. But it’s okay, because I admit I am the stupid one.
Oh man! This is such an entertaining program. I used to play with type-to-speech programs all the time when they were first coming out. The two crazed bears add a whole new dimension to the conversation.
Don’t even get me started. I once tried to explain baseball to someone who was completely unfamiliar with the game . . . and I wanted to hang myself.

Lauren — Glad you liked it. There are seven paragraphs on Wikipedia about errors, 23 pairs of shoes in my closet. Of course, my husband would like to see it the other way around.
Pricilla — Yeah, it would have! But I’m not that talented. I’m just glad I could figure out how to make them talk.
Barb — I was just telling my husband I thought it was hard for the players to have to finish one game on the east coast, then fly to the west coast to play another game the next day. He said “Uh. No sympathy there. They’re paid a boat load of money to do that.”
Babs Beetle — I hate the sound of my recorded voice. I think I like hers better!
Linda Medrano — No, it just makes you way smarter than me. I’m weeping this morning after last night’s game. I’m not a crazy Phils fan, but I know lots of people who are and I was rooting for them on their behalf. We’ll see about the next game.
LIz — OMG. I would fail a baseball test, even if I studied up for three days ahead of time. Still laughing at your answer.
Jessica — I have to look that up now. And thank you for the nice award!
Chris Casey — My head exploded during that play. Dave knew to not even try to explain it to me. And last night I busted a gut watching the signs the first base coach was making (to whom, I don’t know). He looked like he was slapping himself silly out on the field. What does it all mean?
Nutrition Degree — They’ve come a long way. I once had a student working for me in the office who said he and his dorm mate would talk to each other via text-to-speech programs, trying to make it say the stupidest things.
Knucklehead — I think most men are just able to absorb it all, whereas woman (well, maybe I should just speak for myself)need to have it written down and explained, play by play. I can see why that would be aggravating. So I try my hardest to shut the hell up during key moments of the game.
Anna — I’m surprised I haven’t seen that bacon pillow before. Just when I thought I’d seen it all. Do you know I get a couple emails a week from people about bacon things they find? One week, I got a half dozen. I guess I really am an addict and people know it!
meleah rebeccah — I guess the shoes wouldn’t be so bad if I just didn’t throw them all in a pile on the floor, huh?
Nicky — Hee. It could always be worse, eh?
Lin — I love the monotone, except there were parts where I wanted to make myself emphasis a word or words and couldn’t do it. Of course, I think the monotone is our husbands’ way of trying to end the conversation sooner than later.

I did become a fan so I know what an error is (7 paragraphs?) but substitute football for baseball and I’m there.
