What’s That Wednesday
What's That? February 9th, 2011This is another one of those items that could be really easy to guess or really hard. I’m sorry if you find it terribly difficult. No I’m not.
Good luck. That’s all I’m sayin’. Don’t hate me.
How to play:
1. The photo shows a small portion of a larger object.
2. First person to guess the object wins a Junk Drawer magnet and your choice of either bacon or eyeball bandages.
What is that?
Stumble it!

Hi Kathy, Let me guess, the edges looks worn, and this is an extreme close-up, and there is a tiny, 45 degree angled razor in the corner. It looks like a letter opener?
February 9th, 2011 at 12:55 pm
Or a knife sharpener? Do I get more than one guess?

Mike — Generally, no, unless no one gets it for days and I have to ask for new submissions.

Just happy to play along, Kathy, lol. I thought of the other answer afterward. But, no matter. You know I enjoy The Junk Drawer. How have you been doing?

This is the broken desk drawer that you saved so you could use it as a funnel to pour your bacon flavored jelly beans into the small mouthed bottle you store them in, thus allowing you to pour the delicious down your gullet at the speed of light.

My guess is that its part of a laminating machine.
February 9th, 2011 at 2:43 pm
I have been racking my brain trying to figure it out, and I don’t have a clue. Except that it looks sort of burned up.
ps: I had to check to see if it is “wracking” or “racking” my brain, and I think I chose the correct spelling. But I am not sure. Now my brain is wrecked.

No idea what it is, but it appears to be sitting in someone’s cubicle. (The background looks familiar.) Does that count for partial credit?

The wear that is evident seems to indicate Michael is on the right track although I don’t think that he is exactly right. The two blue parts seem to meet at a right angle. I think it is for slicing or cutting, but what it slices or cuts, I don’t know.

Is it a letter separator? As in- a coalating tray..not the “here’s my drawer of the letter B..my box of Q’s..”?

You’ll be pleased to know that I don’t have a clue what it is. However I do think that it’s some sort of office equipment, and as I haven’t been in an office environment for many a year it counts me out on this one.

the inside of a blue metal frame, without the glass and before the corners are screwed together. That’s my guess and I’m sticking to it. My brain isn’t in the creative mode, as some of the other guesses have been.

Morning, class. Good job on the guesses! Some of you are closer than others, but no one has it right.
I’m tempted to give a hint, but I don’t think one is necessary. Keep trying and have a great Thursday!

If you offer something better than bacon or eyeball bandages…maybe then I’ll guess! (;-0)))

It’s a confounded brain tester.
It’s a watchamacallit…look it up in the dictionary to see its identical twin.
It’s that thing that is the absence of a corner, I forget what that’s called.
It’s a pill funnel used by harried Pharmacist filling headache prescriptions for people who try too hard to answer imponderables.
It’s a metal reflector, so that white eye of a tiny robot can see itself.
It’s the downward slope all of my guesses are sliding down towards an inevitable fall through a slot before hitting the floor.
