Unsuccessful Post-It Note Translation
food February 20th, 2014So this morning I packed all my breakfast and lunch containers in a plastic bag that I grabbed from our supply of bags out of the pantry.
When I took them all out at work, I found this Post-It note stuck to the inside of the bag. I thought maybe it was a note I made for myself that I forgot about.
It wasn’t. It was a shopping list that my husband made and left in the bag, from many months ago.
He knows it was old because, for the life of him, he can’t remember what sort of meat he bought that day.
I’m sure we enjoyed the thing of meat. Meat things are so delicious.
The jury is out on whether we had hot dogs.
Stumble it!

He’s a good man and there should be a rule that the one who makes the list should be the same one who does the shopping. Your marriage will be longer and happier if you use that rule. Neither sex has the ability to write descriptions and numbers and sizes and flavors and anything else you need to describe the thing you are looking for. It cuts way down on arguments about who is the idiot that can’t remember what kind of coffee creamer you use. He really needed help with, “some meat things” unless he was the one who wrote “some meat things.”

If I had intended for someone else to read my note I suppose I could have put it more succinctly. But since the note was for myself MEAT THINGS there for are equal to and always the same as THINGS MADE OUT OF MEAT. That is all for now Class.

I’m with you, Dave. My shopping list is always in code as I just want to get to the damn store and be done with it. Who’s got time to be writing down all that stuff.
Besides…what if I drop my list in the store and someone reads what I’m shopping for? I think it would give them a chuckle to see such items as “cat fud” on that scrap of paper.

Some meat thing makes sense to me. He just meant that he would make his mind up once he saw what appealed to him 🙂
